The resident of Mykolaiv is suspected of passing information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the enemy. The court denied her house arrest and extended her detention in a pre-trial detention center.

This is evidenced by the decision of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

This is a criminal proceeding on the grounds of particularly serious crimes - high treason and unauthorized dissemination of information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the woman, who did not recognize the legitimacy of the Ukrainian government and supported pro-Russian views, voluntarily got in touch with the administrator of a Telegram channel that specialized in intelligence gathering. The user with whom she corresponded was aware of the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The suspect transmitted information about the consequences of shelling in the Mykolaiv region, as well as the location of the Ukrainian military. At least two cases of transferring exact addresses were recorded.

On February 6, 2025, while at home, she answered the administrator of the Telegram channel's questions about the deployment of the Armed Forces in Mykolaiv. In particular, she reported on the deployment of the military on the territory of the Mykolaiv Regional Children's Tuberculosis Sanatorium at a specific address. The text read:

"In response to a question about the deployment of the Armed Forces in Mykolaiv, she wrote:"The seaport hospital has been a 'nest' for a long time. Near the sports school, there are again trucks on both sides of the road. The trucks appeared at the beginning of the war, then disappeared after the air defense system arrived. Now they are there again. Not many of them. They do not touch the women. They just stand at the entrance. They have settled down tightly. There are a lot of cars. By the cars you can identify the "nest" of Banderites".

In another message, the woman confirmed the presence of the military in the polyclinic department of the Mykolaiv Commercial Sea Port. According to her, trucks that had previously disappeared after arrivals reappeared there.

Such messages, according to investigators, posed a real threat of damage or destruction of the Armed Forces units.

The prosecution requested an extension of the detention for another five days. The prosecutor noted that the pre-trial investigation is coming to an end, but the risks of absconding or influencing the process remain relevant.

The suspect pleaded guilty in court and requested that the measure of restraint be changed to house arrest. Her defense lawyers insisted that the pre-trial investigation had already been completed, so further detention was illegal.

However, the court, taking into account the severity of the charges (Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code provides for a sentence of 8 to 12 years in prison) and the circumstances of the proceedings, granted the investigator's request. The woman will remain in custody for at least another five days.

At the end of April, an official suspected of high treason was detained during a meeting in the administrative building of the Pervomaisk City Council. She was passing information to the enemy about the movement of Ukrainian troops and the routes of equipment in southern Ukraine, which the Russians could have used to adjust their strikes in the Mykolaiv region.
