The Mykolaiv region posted the worst results in the 2026 National Multisubject Test (NMT). Odesa Oblast ranked 21st, and Kherson Oblast ranked 15th, meaning none of the three regions made it into the top ten.

The regions were ranked based on their rating score—the average of the test results for high school graduates in each region. The results of graduates from previous years who took the NMT in 2026 were not included in the ranking.
Mykolaiv Oblast came in last in the ranking. The ranking included 195 schools from the region. A total of 3,364 students took the NMT, completing 13,040 tests in total. The region’s average ranking score was 129.36, and 94% of participants passed the test.
The Odesa region ranked 21st with an average score of 131.20. The ranking took into account the results of 367 schools, and 8,400 students took the NMT. The percentage of participants who passed the test was 93%.
The Kherson region ranked 15th with an average score of 132.75. The ranking included 98 schools, and 946 students took the test. The percentage of students who passed the NMT was also 94%.
Thus, among the three regions, Kherson Oblast showed the best result, followed by Odesa Oblast, while Mykolaiv Oblast ranked last in the all-Ukrainian ranking.

This year’s graduates took the National Multiple-Choice Test (NMT) in Ukrainian language, mathematics, Ukrainian history, and one elective subject. The test was administered in a computer-based format.
The conditions under which students took the test may have influenced the results. In particular, air raid alerts interrupted the test for some participants. For those who were unable to complete the test due to circumstances related to the war, the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment held an additional testing session.
At the same time, the authors of the ranking caution against using these indicators directly to evaluate the performance of individual schools. Some students left their regions due to hostilities and continued their studies online in other regions of Ukraine or abroad, which may also affect regional statistics.
Earlier in Odesa, officials discussed the situation surrounding the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) held on June 8, when, due to prolonged air raid alerts, some test-takers spent nearly the entire day at testing sites.
