SBU Detains Ukrainian Official in Pervomaisk for Spying for

The official was detained during an official meeting in the administrative building of the Pervomaisk City Council. She is suspected of treason in favor of Russian special services.

According to the SBU, she is a 57-year-old employee of one of the departments of the Pervomaisk City Council.

According to the investigation, she collected and passed on to the enemy data on the movement of Ukrainian troops, the location of mobile units of the Armed Forces and the routes of military equipment in southern Ukraine.

The civil servant transmitted the information through a Telegram chatbot run by pro-Russian blogger Serhiy Lebedev, known as "Shaggy." The latter, according to the SBU, is hiding in occupied Donetsk and cooperates with the FSB and Russian military intelligence.

The Russians planned to use the intelligence gathered by the agent to adjust missile and drone strikes on Mykolaiv region.

According to the agency, the Ukrainian special services were proactive. During the search, they seized equipment with evidence of espionage activities. The woman was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason under martial law). She is currently in custody.

She faces up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Last week, another Russian informant was detained in Mykolaiv, who was collecting data on the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and also transmitted it to the collaborator "Lokhmat" via Telegram.

Before that, the SBU neutralized one of Russia 's largest intelligence networks during the war: 13 occupiers' informers were detained in Mykolaiv region.

In addition, SBU and police officers detained agents of Russian special services who were planning a terrorist attack in Mykolaiv on February 14 this year on the order of the Kremlin. For this purpose, the aggressors used a woman from Poltava region, who was to be blown up with explosives near a cafe in the city center.

Recently, the SBU identified three people in Mykolaiv region who were using Viber and Telegram channels to carry out information and subversive activities aimed at disrupting mobilization and harming the Armed Forces.
