The maternity hospital in Mykolaiv will become a perinatal center within the regional hospital

In Mykolaiv, Maternity Hospital No. 3 will be merged with the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital. Once the reorganization is complete, the facility is expected to change its status and operate as a branch of the regional hospital.

This was discussed at a meeting of the Mykolaiv Regional Council’s Committee on Industrial Policy, Entrepreneurship, Transportation Infrastructure, Water Management, Energy and Energy Conservation, Communications, and Digitalization.

Deputies supported submitting a package of decisions necessary to complete the reorganization of Maternity Hospital No. 3 for consideration at a session of the regional council. These include the approval of the transfer deed, the transfer of property to the regional clinical hospital, amendments to its charter, and the determination of legal succession.

According to a representative of the regional council, all these decisions are part of a single procedure.

“These are all issues related to the completion of the reorganization of Maternity Hospital No. 3. First, it is proposed to approve the transfer deed for the maternity hospital and complete the process of merging it with the regional clinical hospital,” she explained.

Once the merger is complete, the maternity hospital is to become a separate structural unit—a branch of the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital. Currently, the facility remains a separate legal entity.

The commission also discussed the candidate for the head of the future branch. It is proposed that the current director of Maternity Hospital No. 3, Ishchenko, be appointed to this position. At the time of the meeting, he was on leave and therefore did not attend the committee meeting in person. His candidacy is scheduled to be presented to the presidium and the session of the regional council.

The committee supported bringing before the session the issue of terminating Ishchenko’s employment as director of Maternity Hospital No. 3 and his subsequent appointment as head of the branch—the perinatal center.

Separately, the deputies approved the transfer of a non-residential boiler room building, located on the grounds of Maternity Hospital No. 3, to regional municipal ownership.

It was not included in the preliminary acceptance and transfer act because the boiler room has a different legal address. The city council has already given its consent to the transfer of the building to regional municipal ownership; now the regional council must adopt the corresponding resolution.

According to a representative of the regional council, the transfer of the boiler room is necessary to complete the formation of a unified property complex. After the handover act is signed, the plan is to assign it to the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital.

The commission also approved the redistribution of fuel among medical and social institutions. Specifically, 5 metric tons of fuel are planned to be transferred to social welfare institutions, while part of the reserves will go to medical facilities facing more challenging energy supply situations.

The speaker noted that medical facilities have a fuel reserve to power their generators. According to her, they were able to conserve some of the fuel because medical facilities are considered critical infrastructure and have additional power sources, such as solar panels.
