An exhibition of young artist Oleksandra Polyakova was held in Odesa at the Bookstore-Café on 77 Evropeiska Street on June 6.
As noted by an Intent correspondent, during the opening, visitors could talk to the artist herself.
Oleksandra Poliakova is a second-year student of the Faculty of Art and Graphic Arts of the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky. She was born and lived in Sevastopol until 2014. After the occupation of Crimea, she was forced to move to the mainland of Ukraine.
Although she has lived in Odesa for most of her life, she still dreams of returning to Crimea.
That is why the landscapes presented at the exhibition are dedicated to Crimea, which will forever remain in Oleksandra's heart, and to Odesa, which has become her second home.
Similar events take place at the Bookstore-Café on a regular basis, for example, on May 30, the finale of a photo exhibition by Natalia Dovbysh, a photojournalist from Intent, which had been running at the venue since March, took place there. During the finale, most of the photos were sold out by the participants. In total, they managed to raise over 1.5 thousand hryvnias. Intent added the same amount, and all these funds will be used as a charitable contribution to a donation for one of the brigades.
The reconstruction of the 3D model of the Kotsyubiyiv-Khadzhibey fortress took place in Odesa at the Bookstore-Café on May 19, the day historians consider the city's real birthday. The purpose of the model is to popularize Ukrainian military history and deconstruct imperial Russian myths about the south of Ukraine, to promote the military history of Ukraine, and to highlight its brightest events.
By visiting the Bookstore-Café at 77 Evropeiska Street, you will not only support Ukrainian books and the local cultural space, but also independent journalism, as the project was created as one of the ways to support independent media.
