The reconstruction of a 3D model of the Kotsiubiyiv-Khadzhibey fortress took place in Odesa at the Bookstore-Café on May 19, the day historians consider to be the city's real birthday.

The fact is that the first known mention of the city of Khadjibey dates back to May 19, 1415.

The 3D model was created in cooperation between historians, scientists and leaders of the Southern Operational Command.

The purpose of the model is to popularize Ukrainian military history and deconstruct imperial Russian myths about southern Ukraine, to promote the military history of Ukraine, and to highlight its brightest events.

During the presentation, the history of wars from Cossack times to the modern war for Ukraine's independence will be presented, and the role of the modern city of Odesa in it will be shown. In particular, these are the defense events of the spring of 2022 organized and conducted by the forces and means of the troops of the "South" command.

Every year on September 2, Odesa celebrates the City Day. This date is as controversial as the age of the city itself. Officially, Odesa turned 230 years old in 2024, but there is an opinion that the date of the city's foundation should be measured from the first mention of the Khadzhibey fortress, where the city stands. Then Odesa would be over 600 years old, and the date of its foundation would have to be changed.
