Mykolaiv has summarized the results of the first week of operation of a new trolleybus route to the Kazarsky district.

According to Mykolaivelectrotrans, the utility company carried more than 15 thousand passengers during this period.

In turn, the company's director, Yuriy Smetana, noted that four trolleybuses operated daily on the route, and the data was obtained thanks to automatic passenger counting sensors. The system records only the number of entrances and exits without collecting personal data, which allows for an objective assessment of the route's efficiency.

The launch of the new connection has significantly improved transport accessibility for residents of Kazarske. In particular, the number of public transport has increased and the fare has become lower: UAH 15 when paying at the driver or UAH 12 via QR code.

In addition, passengers have the opportunity to transfer to other trolleybuses and trams free of charge within 90 minutes, which makes it easier to get around the city. For 21 privileged categories of citizens, travel remains free.

The company thanked the residents for their trust and emphasized that the development of electric transport remains one of the city's priorities.

As a reminder, the new trolleybus route No. 14, which will connect Kazarskogo Street with the old railway station, has been operating since April 28.

Mykolaiv is also introducing a new payment format for electric transport.

In addition, the city has raised the cost of public transportation - the new fares will take effect in late April and early May.

The city council explained the increase in tariffs by the rising cost of fuel, spare parts, and materials, as well as the growth of the minimum wage.

It should be noted that the current fare for public electric transport is UAH 10 for a paper ticket and UAH 8 for a QR code.

Mykolaiv will receive 40 tramcars from the Swedish city of Gothenburg. These are M29 trams, which were previously used in the Swedish urban transportation system.
