A new trolleybus route No. 14 will start operating in Mykolaiv on April 28, connecting Kazarsky Street with the old railway station.
This was announced by Yuriy Smetana, director of Mykolaivelectrotrans.
According to him, the new route will expand the electric transport network and improve transport links between city districts.
The route will run through key transport arteries, including Pryvokzalna Square, Arkasivska Street, Tsentralny Avenue, Khersonske Highway, as well as Krugova, Troitska, Elektronna, O. Yanata and Kazarskoho streets.
Before the launch, the company's specialists, together with the city transport department and the administration of the Ingul district, tested the route and determined the optimal stops and traffic logistics.
The city authorities emphasize that the new route will also make electric transport more accessible to privileged categories of the population, who will be able to enjoy the benefits provided.
As a reminder, Mykolaiv is introducing a new payment format for electric transport.
In addition, the city has raised public transportation fares - the new tariffs will take effect in late April and early May.
The city council explained the increase in tariffs by the rising cost of fuel, spare parts, and materials, as well as the growth of the minimum wage.
It should be noted that the current fare for public electric transportation is UAH 10 for a paper ticket and UAH 8 for a QR code.
Mykolaiv will receive 40 tramcars from the Swedish city of Gothenburg. These are M29 trams, which were previously used in the Swedish urban transportation system.
As a reminder, in December 2025, tram service was resumed in Mykolaiv on the route No. 3 ChSZ - 10th Military. Electric vehicles are running again according to their usual schedule.
