Ukraine has received 300 generators with a total capacity of 1,650 kW and a cost of more than UAH 417,000, 50 of which will be transferred to Odesa.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development.

In addition to Odesa, the generators will be transferred to: Kyiv - 100 units, Sumy - 50 units, Kherson - 40 units, Mykolaiv - 50 units, and Lviv - 10 units. The delivery is the result of an agreement between the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Southeast European Cooperation Initiative (SECI). The SECI is donating the equipment to help Ukrainians, including residents of the frontline areas, survive the winter period in the face of Russian aggression.

The Southeast European Cooperative Initiative (SECI) is a 29-nation multilateral regional initiative launched by the United States and the European Union in 1996. SECI develops sustainable economic strategies for the region and focuses on cross-border cooperation programs and projects in the areas of infrastructure, trade, transportation, security, energy, environment, and the private sector.

Meanwhile, up to 60% of all household customers and businesses in the Odesa region were simultaneously left without electricity. According to the Ministry of Energy, the enemy launched a massive attack with drones and missiles on 750 kV and 330 kV substations and overhead lines in different regions of the country. As a result, nuclear power plants were forced to reduce their generation capacity. In order to balance the power system, NPC Ukrenergo ordered the introduction of strict restrictions for all regions of Ukraine. That is why emergency blackouts are in effect in Odesa region.
