The acting mayor of Odesa received a 50% salary increase and monthly bonuses. The decision also provides for financial assistance and the possibility of bonuses for his deputies.

The decision was made at a session of the Odesa City Council.

The Odesa City Council has decided to regulate payments to the acting mayor, secretary of the city council, Igor Koval, and his deputies. The document provides for allowances, bonuses and financial assistance that will be valid for the term of office of the council of the VIII convocation.

In particular, Koval will receive a 50% bonus for performing particularly important work, a monthly bonus of 150% of his salary, and an annual financial assistance for health and social needs in the amount of his average monthly salary.

In addition, the acting mayor was authorized to award bonuses to the first deputy mayor and other deputy mayors up to 150% of the official salary, taking into account all bonuses for rank, length of service and special achievements.

All payments will be made within the approved payroll budget. Control over the implementation of the decision is entrusted to the city council's standing committee on planning, budget and finance.

The declarations of Odesa officials show that their salaries increased in 2024, and former mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov was no exception. The Center for Public Investigations found out which employees of the city council and the Odesa Military Administration received almost half a million hryvnias in bonuses. Throughout the year, officials regularly received monthly bonuses, and in December, most of them additionally received one-time bonuses or payments for annual evaluation.

In 2024, at least seven officials received healthcare assistance. In addition, some employees of the city council and the Odesa military administration received additional payments to improve their social and living conditions - at least six of them. Officials received these payments in October, and both department directors received them in December.
