Professor Oleksandr Muzychko of the Mechnikov Odesa National University, against whom the university administration decided to launch an internal investigation, has stopped contacting the university.

This was reported by the vice-rector of the university , Maya Nikolaeva, during a conversation with activists of the organization "We make you nervous" who came to the university building demanding not to dismiss the professor.

"We are not yet considering dismissing Oleksandr Muzychko. We are only talking about an internal investigation, which we cannot start because he does not contact the management and does not answer the phone. If any of you can contact him, please ask him to start communicating with us," the vice-rector explained.

She also noted that, in addition to the outraged public calls for the teacher's dismissal, the university plans to consider students' statements and complaints against him.

There were 17 activists holding posters in support of Oleksandr Muzychko. The teacher himself and the leader of the RVN organization Kateryna Musienko did not attend the rally.

Intent tried to contact Oleksandr Muzychko, but his phone was turned off. The teacher also closed his Facebook profile.

Earlier, the administration of the Mechnikov Odesa National University officially announced the start of an internal investigation against the lecturer Oleksandr Muzychko. The reason was his systematic public statements on social media and the media space, which caused a significant public outcry.

At the same time, the NGO "Making You Nervous" announced an attempt to dismiss their member, Professor Muzychko of the Odesa National University named after I. According to them, the initiative is related to his personal statements on social media. The NGO emphasized that the professor's statements are a manifestation of the civic position that Ukrainians have the right to voice, especially in times of war.

Recently, Oleksandr Muzychko said that, in his opinion, the public reaction to the death of actor Volodymyr Komarov shows that the war is not about cultural independence from Russian influence. He also expressed his belief that a part of Ukrainian society allegedly seeks to preserve the old order and is guided by the Russian cultural tradition, which, in his opinion, poses a threat to Ukrainians. However, the post has now been removed.
