Police have not yet detained the man who stole the CCC car with the mobilized soldiers

Police are still searching for the man who stole a car from the territorial center for equipment and social support in Ovidiopol, Odesa region, on August 8.

This was reported to Intent by the police.

During the transportation of persons liable for military service, one of the passengers got behind the wheel of the vehicle and drove off in an unknown direction. The driver's personal belongings and documents remained in the car. The vehicle was later found and seized. According to eyewitnesses, there were three other mobilized men in the car.

The offenses under Article 357 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Abduction, misappropriation, extortion of documents, stamps, seals, obtaining them by fraud or abuse of office or damaging them") and Article 289 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal seizure of a vehicle") have been registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations.

If his guilt is proven after detention, the man faces either a fine or a maximum of three years in prison for document misappropriation and restriction or imprisonment for a term of five to 12 years.

Earlier, the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support commented on the video of the incident in the village of Zelenohirske, Podil district. As part of mobilization activities in the Podil district, a joint alert group of the RCCC and the JV and representatives of the National Police stopped a vehicle to check military registration documents. A check in the Oberig database revealed that the citizen was wanted for violating the rules of military registration. In addition, the police used a technical device (drager) to establish that the driver was intoxicated.
