Oleksandr Urbanskyi, deputy chairman of the Odesa Regional Council, may be fined for failing to declare an Audi car worth about UAH 5 million on the market.

This is reported by Nikcenter.

According to media reports, the politician bought the car in the spring of 2023 at a reduced price of UAH 500,000. The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) found violations in Urbanskyi's declaration and announced a possible fine of 17 to 42 thousand hryvnias.

Journalists found out that Urbanskyi was using a 2021 car, as evidenced by fines for speeding, but did not declare it. The car was purchased through an intermediary from Unicars, a company associated with businessman Borys Kaufman, who is suspected of corruption schemes and misappropriation of Odesa airport property.

According to the purchase agreement, the commission to the intermediary was only UAH 100, and the price of the car was listed as UAH 500,000, which is 10 times less than the market value. The Ministry of Internal Affairs Service Center confirmed this information to the NACP. The politician assured that it was a "technical error."

In addition, the investigation revealed that Urbanskyi sold the car he received from his ex-wife for 18 thousand hryvnias for more than 4 million. His previous car, an Audi SQ7, was also underreported in his declaration at UAH 500,000, although it could have cost about UAH 4.8 million.

Meanwhile, the wife of the deputy head of the Odesa regional council, Natalia, in December 2022 became the owner of two apartments in Greece with an area of 203.5 and 150 square meters, respectively.

In 2022, Natalia Urbanska also acquired 100 shares of the Bulgarian Trans Forward LLC at UAH 964 per share and five Ukrainian government bonds of UAH 1,000 each.
