A deputy of one of Kherson's district councils was put on trial for large-scale concealment of property. According to the investigation, he failed to indicate dozens of real estate objects worth millions of hryvnias in his declarations.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Law enforcement officers sent an indictment to court against a deputy of one of the district councils in Kherson. He was charged with entering false information in annual declarations, which falls under Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation was launched based on the materials of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption. It was the NAPC 's inspection that revealed significant discrepancies between the declared data and the official's actual assets.

According to the investigation, in the declarations for 2023-2024, the accused failed to provide information about 82 real estate objects. Of these, 24 belong to him on the right of private ownership, and another 58 are in use. The undeclared property includes land plots, apartments in Kherson, residential buildings, and even a parking space.

The total value of the hidden assets, according to law enforcement, exceeds UAH 13 million.

If found guilty, the deputy faces up to two years in prison, as well as an additional penalty of a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years. The deputy was notified of suspicion of entering false information on March 25.

Also in March, Maksym Sheiko, a deputy of the Vyhodianske village council in Odesa region, declared assets with significant discrepancies: according to NACP estimates, the total amount of false information exceeds UAH 134 million.
