Two lawyers from Mykolaiv were notified of being suspected of bribery. They helped people liable for military service to get a deferral from mobilization.

This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecutor's office charged the two lawyers with incitement to give an illegal benefit to an official, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, and facilitating the illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 4 of Article 27, Part H of Article 369, Part 2, Part H of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The suspects organized an illegal scheme to produce and issue fake medical certificates with fake diagnoses to men of military age.

To implement their plan, they offered a family doctor, who is a member of the medical advisory commission, to produce and issue certificates of temporary unfitness and illness of persons liable for military service for a bribe.

The law enforcement recorded the transfer of an unlawful benefit in the amount of USD 900 from a conscript. These funds were transferred to a family doctor who entered false information about the need to care for his father with a disability. This allowed the conscript to receive a deferral from mobilization.

Also, one of the lawyers provided her "client" with advice on how to cross the state border without hindrance. During searches of the suspects' residences and workplaces, evidence of their illegal activities was seized.

The offenders were detained under Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. The court decided to impose on the suspects custody as a measure of restraint with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 2.5 million and UAH 510 thousand.

The full range of persons involved in the scheme and the "clients" who used their services is currently being identified.

In June, a Mykolaiv court sentenced an intern at a city hospital who helped avoid mobilization for money. He was found guilty of abuse of influence and fined over 300 thousand hryvnias. Additionally, the doctor was ordered to transfer 100 thousand to the Armed Forces.

In Odesa, an employee of the Kyiv District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support was detained for bribery. After the person was captured, they demanded money, but in return they gave empty summonses for people to fill out and simply change the numbers. The rate per week per person was 1,000 conventional units for the summonses and 10,000 for being released
