The executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council has decided to dismantle illegal trade kiosks in Zavodskyi district and approved the installation of summer playgrounds in the city center.

According to the Mykolaiv City Council, citing the city's chief architect Yevhen Poliakov, the dismantling will involve four temporary structures that were installed without permits.

These are kiosks located at:

According to the official, the owners were warned about the need to dismantle them, but the requirements were not met.

"These buildings are cluttered, have a dilapidated appearance, create unsanitary conditions and occupy urban space," Polyakov said.

At the same time, the executive committee allowed two entrepreneurs to set up summer playgrounds in the Central District. It is about placing tables and chairs near catering establishments.

In particular, the permits were granted to:

Entrepreneurs must sign the relevant agreements and pay for the use of land.

The city council emphasizes that such decisions allow to organize the urban space and ensure budget revenues.

As previously reported by Intent, law enforcement officers in Mykolaiv have launched an investigation into alleged fraud with budget funds during the renovation of road infrastructure. The case concerns the purchase of traffic lights, for which the city paid in December 2025, but the equipment never appeared at the facilities.

In January 2026, during searches at the director's place of residence, in his car and at the company, law enforcement officers did not find a single piece of the ordered equipment. The investigation believes that to conceal the crime, officials used fictitious documents about the alleged transfer of traffic lights for storage to a contractor.
