Prosecutors of the Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office in Odesa have served a notice of suspicion to a 44-year-old resident of the city who helped to avoid mobilization.
This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The man is charged with extortion and obtaining an unlawful benefit for himself for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions. According to the investigation, the suspect offered the 26-year-old man assistance in obtaining a deferral from mobilization to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In exchange for USD 4.5 thousand, the dealer promised to use his personal connections to get the man a freelance job at the SBU in Odesa. When the man refused the offer, the dealer began to blackmail him and threatened to report him to the district territorial center for recruitment and social support.

During a personal meeting, the dealer increased the amount of the reward to USD 5.5 thousand and received part of the money - USD 4.4 thousand. He was detained by law enforcement immediately after the money transfer.
Earlier, police investigators in Odesa sent to court the case of a resident of Mykolaiv region accused of influence peddling. The resident of Mykolaiv promised the man to employ him in the Security Service of Ukraine, assuring him that it was a good way to avoid mobilization.
The dealer claimed that he had connections with SBU officials whom he could influence to resolve the employment issue in a positive way. Law enforcement officers detained the suspect immediately after he received a portion of the $5,000 bribe.
The case on suspicion of official negligence against the head of the center for emergency medical care and disaster medicine was sent to court.
