Mykolaiv resident who promised employment in SBU sent to court in Odesa

Police investigators in Odesa have sent to court the case of a resident of Mykolaiv region who is accused of abuse of influence.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast.

During the pre-trial investigation, investigators found that a 48-year-old resident of Mykolaiv had found an Odesa resident among his friends who was trying to avoid military service and offered him help.

TheMykolaiv resident promised the man to employ him in the Security Service of Ukraine, assuring him that it was a good way to avoid mobilization. The dealer claimed that he had connections with SBU officials whom he could influence to resolve the employment issue in a positive way.

To pass the pre-employment check, the Mykolaiv resident asked to send the relevant documents and pay UAH 8.4 thousand. After successfully passing the inspection, he described the terms of employment in detail and estimated his services at $9,000, offering to transfer the money in two tranches.

Law enforcement officers detained the suspect immediately after he received a part of the $5,000 bribe.

Investigators seized the money, the detainee's car, his cell phone and bank cards from the scene. All this property was subsequently seized by the court.

For the duration of the investigation, the court imposed on the offender a measure of restraint in the form of detention with the right to be released on bail, which he used. If found guilty, the man faces imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with confiscation of property.

The case of suspicion of the head of the center of emergency medical care and disaster medicine of official negligence was sent to court.
