The regional working group "Transparency and Accountability" reviewed reports on the work of the groups at Beryslav and Kherson Regional Administrations.

According to Dmytro Butriy, First Deputy Head of Kherson Regional Administrative Department, two meetings were held in Beryslav district to review the use of budget funds. Last year, the communities of this district allocated more than UAH 33 million to purchase equipment and gear for the military defending Kherson region. Tyahinska, Novooleksandrivska, Novorayska, Mylivska and Beryslavska communities provided the most assistance.

In addition, the communities allocated UAH 15.7 million for social support for veterans, their families and families of fallen soldiers. Velyko Oleksandrivska, Beryslavska, Tyahynska and Kochubeivska communities were the most active in this regard.

In Kherson district, 12 meetings of the Transparency and Accountability working group were held last year. The main focus was on budget transparency and efficient use of taxpayer funds.

According to the official, a positive result was the growth of budget revenues in the de-occupied communities of the district. As Butriy explained, this was made possible by the personal income tax and the abolition of land tax exemptions.

Meanwhile, in Vysokopillya, Kherson region, financial irregularities worth more than a million hryvnias were found during the restoration of damaged buildings.

Also in Kherson region, the prosecutor's office suspended a dubious contract for the repair of a shelter in the Dar'yivka community, which could have cost the budget UAH 11.4 million.

Earlier, the Capital Construction Department of the Kherson City Council signed a contract for technical supervision of the construction of a radiation shelter on the territory of school No. 55 in Kherson.
