In the Kherson region, the prosecutor's office stopped a dubious contract for the repair of a shelter in the Dar'yivka community, which could have cost the budget UAH 11.4 million.

This was reported by the Kherson Region Prosecutor's Office.

As law enforcement officers found out, in July 2024, the Dar'yivka village council signed a contract with a private company to repair the basement without open bidding, citing the urgency of the work. However, an audit showed that this decision was unjustified, as a tender would not have prevented the repairs from being completed quickly, but would have guaranteed transparency and efficient use of funds.

The prosecutor's office appealed to the court, and it upheld its claims: the parties are obliged to refrain from fulfilling the contract. This way, budget money will not be spent illegally.

Recently, the local authorities in Kherson signed four contracts for the maintenance of simple shelters for collective protection of the population. The total amount of the contracts is almost 10 million hryvnias, and all contracts were given to one company from Kyiv region - Clarus LLC.

Intent has already written that in Velyka Oleksandrivka, Kherson region, the construction of a shelter at a local school was ordered without a tender. The contract worth more than UAH 150 million will be awarded to a Kyiv-based company whose director is involved in a criminal case of embezzlement of budget funds, and whose father has a criminal record for treason.

In addition, at the end of 2024, a tender was held for the construction of a radiation shelter on the territory of the Arkhangelsk Professional Agricultural Lyceum in Beryslav district, Kherson region. As a result of the bidding, the contract was concluded with the odious Construction-TM LLC.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the JMA, 11 protective structures are planned to be completed this year, and 5 more are to be built from scratch.
