The Kyiv District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support of Odesa commented on the information about the incident with the attempted self-mutilation that appeared in the public space.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Recruitment and Social Support Center.

According to official data, the man was brought to the premises of the CCC and JV by the National Police, as he was wanted for violating the rules of military registration. The center notes that during the inspection, the citizen did not provide any medical documents that would indicate his unfitness for military service. Also, there is no information in the state electronic register "Oberih" about his deferment.

While undergoing standard procedures, the man, according to the CCC, attempted self-mutilation. The center believes that this was done to avoid being drafted and to put pressure on officials. The duty officer immediately called an ambulance and the police, but the citizen behaved aggressively, threatening medics and soldiers with a knife, which made it difficult to provide assistance. He was later hospitalized.

The CCC and JV emphasized that no physical or illegal actions were taken against the man by the military. According to them, the military and police acted solely to save his life and health. At the same time, the center considers the citizen's actions as an attempt to blackmail and evade the fulfillment of his constitutional duty.

Representatives of the CCC also called on the public to be critical of emotional statements and to check the information disseminated in such cases.

In early December, a court in Odesa found a resident of the city guilty of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period. The accused blocked the car of the notification group of the territorial recruitment and social support center, where a mobilized man, four employees of the TSC and a police officer were located, with his car and damaged the vehicle.
