The Security Service of Ukraine has detained in Odesa a member of the power wing of the Luhansk branch of the banned pro-Russian party Opposition Platform - For Life, who had been hiding from law enforcement for almost three years.

This was reported by the third department of the SBU Main Directorate in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

According to the special service, the resident of Siverskodonetsk, who lost his job due to drugs, joined the All-Ukrainian Movement Against Fascism Patriots for Life in 2021.

This paramilitary group was formed by IlyaKiva, who was killed in 2023 in the Moscow region, from former athletes and criminals to provide forceful cover for political events held by Medvedchuk and other OPFL leaders, and to provide physical protection for pro-Russian party leaders and their estates.

As a member of this special unit, the offender participated in rallies and other pro-Kremlin events organized by the pro-Russian political force shortly before the large-scale war in Kyiv and other regions.

Together with other militants of Ilya Kiva, he was trained in a special training center, where the organization's members were prepared to counter law enforcement, taught how to destabilize the situation in large Ukrainian cities and possible force support for the occupation forces.

Law enforcement officers established that in 2022 the detainee left Siverskodonetsk, occupied by the enemy, for government-controlled territory. He was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but deserted his place of service.

In Kyiv, the offender committed several robberies against local residents and in 2023 was put on the national wanted list.

The detainee is currently in custody. He was served a notice of suspicion. Documentation of his activities in the ranks of a pro-Russian militant group is ongoing.
