During her visit to the Odesa region, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko presented 87 housing certificates to male and female defenders.

This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

In total, Ukraine plans to issue 2,150 such certificates this year to veterans with war-related disabilities.

Currently, veterans in Ukraine can use several tools to secure housing: registering for an apartment, receiving housing from the state, receiving monetary compensation, or obtaining a housing certificate under the “e-Recovery” program.  One of the most relevant mechanisms for securing housing is the state “e-Recovery” program, which allows individuals to obtain a housing certificate to purchase a new home to replace one that was destroyed.

The program provides compensation to internally displaced persons, including war veterans and military personnel, who have lost their only home and are facing difficult living conditions.

Incidentally, internally displaced persons who relocated from the temporarily occupied territories to the Odesa region have used 298 vouchers to purchase housing under the “e-Recovery” program’s “Housing for IDPs from the TOT” initiative. Odesa Oblast ranked third in this category. Kyiv Oblast took first place, where more than 500 vouchers totaling over 1 billion hryvnias were used. In second place was the Dnipropetrovsk region—342 vouchers totaling 682.8 million hryvnias—and in fourth place was Kyiv, where 275 vouchers totaling 549.6 million hryvnias were used. More than 88% of the purchased housing consists ofapartments, with another 10% or so being single-family homes. Nearly 87% of the housing was purchased on the secondary market. In total, over 41,000 applications have been submitted to participate in the program. More than 33,000 of them have already been reviewed and approved by local commissions.
