A Verkhovna Rada committee is scheduled to consider the application of an MP from Mykolaiv to resign from her parliamentary seat. After that, the parliament will have to approve this decision.

This is stated in the announcement of events on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

On February 24, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Regulations, Deputy Ethics and Organization will consider the application of MP Iryna Kormyshkina, who is asking to resign her parliamentary powers early.

The Committee will review the MP's application and then adopt a conclusion that will be submitted to the Parliament. As an MP, she must obtain parliamentary approval to resign.

On January 9, 2025, the NABU and the SAPO notified the MP of suspicion of entering false information in her electronic declaration. The suspect's actions were classified under Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - declaring false information.

Under this article, Kormishkina faces a fine, community service, or restriction or imprisonment for up to 2 years, as well as the retention of the right to hold certain positions or engage in activities for up to 3 years.

Recently, the Anti-Corruption Court extended its duties. Thus, on December 18, 2024, at the request of the NABU and the SAPO, the court decided to extend the MP's duties for another two months.

On October 17, 2024, the NABU and the SAPO notified the MP of suspicion of illicit enrichment in the amount of more than UAH 20 million. She could face up to 10 years in prison.

The MP's official income was about UAH 2.7 million. At the same time, she used this money to buy a house near Odesa, where she now lives. She also owns half of a 63-square-meter apartment in Mykolaiv, a 321.8-square-meter house, a land plot in the village of Lymana, and another 965-square-meter plot in the regional center.

Also in October, a preventive measure in the form of a personal guarantee was imposed on the deputy, with the head of the faction David Arakhamia and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitaliy Kim as guarantors.

In addition, in January, law enforcement officers arrested a former deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Yuriy Kormishkin, and granted him bail. The former MP is the owner of the Southern Agricultural Export Company and the husband of Iryna Kormishkina.
