Law enforcement agencies have served a suspicion notice to a current MP from Mykolaiv in a case of illegal enrichment worth over UAH 20 million. She currently faces up to 10 years in prison.

This was reported by the press service of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

According to Ukrayinska Pravda, it is a member of the Servant of the People party, Iryna Kormyshkina.

The investigation found that in 2021-2022, the MP received assets that significantly exceeded her official income and savings. Her official income amounted to about UAH 2.7 million, which she used for other purposes. At the same time, she used this money to buy a house near Odesa, where she now lives.

According to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), the MP's actions are qualified under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty under this article provides for up to 10 years in prison and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years.

In November 2022, the High Anti-Corruption Court ordered Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin to launch an investigation into the possible illicit enrichment of Iryna Kormyshkina. According to preliminary data, she received gifts worth more than UAH 20 million, including a valuable Swiss watch and substantial cash gifts from her father, whose official income did not allow for such generosity.

She owns half of a 63-square-meter apartment in Mykolaiv, a 321.8-square-meter house, a land plot in the village of Lymana, and another 965-square-meter plot in the regional center. During her time in the Verkhovna Rada , Iryna Kormyshkina received a salary of UAH 481 thousand and insurance payments of UAH 91 thousand.

In the summer of 2024, the MP sold property worth UAH 7.3 million. The day before, her husband, latifundist Yuriy Kormyshkin, resigned as a deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council. In particular, on July 11, the MP sold real estate worth more than UAH 6 million, and on July 13, she also sold movable property worth UAH 1.2 million.

Recently, Iryna Kormyshkina purchased a land plot and sold real estate. The seller of the land is connected to the company of the MP's husband, a former deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council. Thus, on August 30, 2024, she purchased a land plot with a total area of 140000 m2 for UAH 763 thousand. In addition, on October 4, 2024, she sold real estate worth UAH 298,328.

Earlier, Iryna Kormyshkina was among the top five richest MPs, earning UAH 123.5 million in 2023. In 2023, she purchased a land plot of 920 thousand square meters in the village of Kalynivka, Mykolaiv region. The purchase price amounted to UAH 5 million 142 thousand.
