According to the Mykolaiv City Council, representatives of regional and city authorities, the military, families of the victims, colleagues and residents of the city gathered near the destroyed administrative building, which still remains a symbol of Russian aggression. The participants honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the site of the tragedy.

The participants of the event recalled the events of the missile attack on Mykolaiv Regional State Administration on March 29, 2022, when Russian troops struck the administrative building in the city center. The missile hit destroyed the central part of the building from the first to the ninth floors.

This day will forever remain in the memory of the city's residents as a symbol of the tragedy and pain caused by the full-scale invasion. Mykolaiv remembers its victims and continues to honor their memory.

The strike occurred at 8:45 a.m., when most workers were just starting their workday. The occupiers fired a Kalibr missile at the building of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration. The central part of the building collapsed from the ninth to the first floor. Search and rescue operations lasted five days. Among the dead were employees of the Regional Military Administration, the regional council, the Economic Court, and military personnel guarding the area. In total, 37 people died.

According to Vitaliy Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv DMA, the building is not subject to repair or reconstruction.

Mykolaiv and the region suffer from enemy shelling almost every day.

On March 8, at about 07:45, the enemy launched a missile attack on the open area of Mykolaiv district, probably with an Iskander-M missile. There were no casualties or damage.

Before that, the enemy attacked the area with an X-35 cruise missile, which lost its combat capability over open terrain. At night, air defense destroyed two more drones. In Mykolaiv district, debris hit an infrastructure facility, causing a fire, and the blast wave damaged warehouses.
