Law enforcement agencies have arrested former Mykolaiv Regional Council deputy Yuriy Kormyshkin. He has been released on bail as a preventive measure.

This was reported by journalist Vladislav Sydorenko.

According to him, the arrest of Yuriy Kormyshkin was reported by interlocutors from special services.

Yuriy Kormyshkin, a deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, is the owner of the Southern Agricultural Export Company. He is also the husband of MP Iryna Kormyshkina, who is currently under suspicion by the SAPO. Both are members of David Arakhamia's group.

Later, the journalist added that the suspect was released on bail in the amount of UAH 20 million, and he and his wife are accused of money laundering.

In June last year, Yuriy Kormyshkin, a deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council and head of the Nash Krai faction, decided to resign from his post. Members of the faction elected a new leader.

In early 2025, the NABU and the SAPO announced another suspicion of the current MP Iryna Kormyshkina of entering false information in her e-declaration.

The MP is also a suspect in the case of illegal enrichment. In the period of 2021-2022, she acquired assets worth more than UAH 20 million, although her declared income and savings during this time did not exceed UAH 2.7 million.

The acquired property includes a house in Odesa region, which was not listed in her declaration. In addition, in her 2023 declaration, she did not indicate two land plots she used.

Last year, the MP's husband, Yuriy Kormyshkin, commented on the suspicion, saying that his wife had only declared an inheritance from her late father, who, according to him, was "an influential person in Mykolaiv region." He also expressed the opinion that the situation was being used to "create information hype", which made it difficult for his wife to live and work.

On October 23, 2024, an investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a measure of restraint in the form of a personal guarantee on the MP suspected of illicit enrichment. The guarantors were the head of the Verkhovna Rada faction , David Arakhamia, and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim.
