Ukrposhta has prepared a stamp in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Odesa Archaeological Museum, which features artifacts.

This was reported by the museum's press service.

"Together with Ukrposhta, we have prepared our own stamp for the 200th anniversary of the OAM. We have collected your favorite artifacts on it. The same ones that are now stored in the darkness of the museum's collections and are waiting for better times. And while they are waiting, you can get them in the format of 29.58x33 millimeters," the museum said.

Odesa Archaeological Museum celebrates its 200th anniversary this year and is the oldest archaeological museum in Ukraine. The museum building was built in 1883 by architect Felix Gonsiorowski as a building for the Public Library and Museum of the Odesa Society of History and Antiquities. The project was funded by the then mayor Hryhorii Marazli. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the museum has repeatedly suffered from the effects of Russian shelling.

In April, specialists from the Archaika Research Laboratory created a 3D model of the Odesa Archaeological Museum using 70 scans and 1,500 photos.

Earlier, the Odesa Archaeological Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, together with representatives of the NGO "Archaica," digitized and created 3D models of Egyptian artifacts, Cypriot sculpture, and exhibits from Samarkand for a month. The south of Ukraine - Crimea and Odesa region - will also be represented.

Also in April, Ukrposhta announced the release of a new series of stamps depicting lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, including those located in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. The collection also includes lighthouses in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. In particular, the list includes the Shahansk lighthouse in Odesa region, which guides ships across the Black Sea.
