The richest officials of Mykolaiv region hid luxury cars and houses

(COLLAGE: Ukrainian Pravda)

Deputies and officials of Mykolaiv region declared assets worth more than one billion hryvnias. Numerous violations were found - from "forgotten" companies of relatives and undeclared housing to luxury cars with 10-20 times lower value.

Nikcenter journalists analyzed the declarations submitted in 2024 to the register of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

In 2024, the richest MPs and officials of Mykolaiv region declared property worth more than a billion hryvnias. The analysts found not only the sources of their wealth, but also numerous violations - from "forgotten" companies of relatives and luxury cars with suspiciously low prices to the absence of housing in the declarations where they actually live.

The list includes 50 people with the highest incomes and assets: members of city, regional and local councils, MPs, heads of administrations, government agencies, judges, prosecutors and police officers.

Numerous inconsistencies were found in the declarations of the richest officials. For example, the head of the Ingul district administration, Hanna Remennikova, failed to declare companies related to her husband. And her colleague from the Central District, Oleksandr Bereza, does not formally have his own home in Mykolaiv, although the family used to rent an apartment in the Admiral residential complex, but it does not appear in the declarations.

SAPO prosecutor Vitaliy Korzun indicated a room in a school in Mykolaiv as his place of registration, although he actually lives in the capital - in the apartment of his wife's relative, with whom he also shares a parking space. His annual income is almost 2.7 million hryvnias.

Most questions arose about the declarants' vehicles. Yuriy Kormyshkin, a former deputy of the regional council, indicated in his declaration that he had purchased a brand new Maybach for 350 thousand hryvnias. In reality, such a car costs at least 10-20 times more on the market. The head of the Maritime Administration, Yevhen Ihnatenko, did not indicate any income from the sale of two cars worth half a million. And Oleksandr Klimov, deputy head of the Internal Security Department of the National Police, allegedly bought a Lexus RX 450H for 809 thousand - although the real price of such crossovers starts at 1.6 million.

The investigation showed that many Mykolaiv officials and politicians neglect transparency requirements or try to hide the true extent of their wealth.

Also, Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych recently reported changes in his property status: in May, he purchased a 2021 INDIAN SCOUT BOBBER motorcycle. The purchase price amounted to UAH 223,860, and the seller was the private enterprise Color Auto Park, which the official submitted to the NACP.
