Construction of Ukraine's first military lyceum, which will be built to new standards, has begun in Mykolaiv region. The educational institution is designed for 300 students.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, who visited the construction site.
According to the minister, it is planned to build at least one military educational institution in each region and to develop existing institutions. Design work is currently underway.
Construction of the first lyceum has begun in Mykolaiv region.
The new educational institution will have a completely updated concept: shelters, dormitories, classrooms, and gyms will be built on the territory. Classrooms will be equipped with innovative equipment: STEM laboratories, robotics workshops, drone production centers, and other modern technology platforms. The lyceum will be designed for 300 students.
As promised by Shmyhal, this will be the first military lyceum built from scratch to meet the new requirements. At the same time, existing military lyceums across Ukraine are being updated and modernized.
Intent previously reported that the issue of creating a military lyceum in Mykolaiv region began to be considered in September 2024. Then, during a working visit to the region, Denys Shmyhal emphasized that in 2024 Mykolaiv region received more than UAH 3.2 billion to restore and maintain critical infrastructure, medical and educational institutions, and to build defense lines.
The Prime Minister also said that the state plans to create a wide network of military lyceums - at least one in each region. It was then that he announced the initiative to create such an institution in Mykolaiv region.
The Ministry of Defense was instructed to consider the possibility of establishing a lyceum on the basis of the Horokhiv branch of the Nadbuzka Professional Agricultural Lyceum.
