In Mykolaiv, the head of a medical institution was suspected of negligence. The prosecutor's office found that her inaction caused serious damage to the public interest. The manager faces liability under the second part of Article 367 of the Criminal Code.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation established that in 2023-2024, the head of the Mykolaiv hospital entered into contracts with the NHSU to provide rehabilitation care, which was to be financed from the state budget. Despite official commitments, the medical institution did not actually have enough specialists and the necessary equipment to carry out such procedures. The director was aware of these violations, but instead of eliminating them, she allowed false data on the allegedly provided services to be entered into the electronic system.

Based on this fictitious reporting, the hospital unjustifiably received public funds, which resulted in losses of over UAH 21.3 million. For such actions, the official faces up to five years in prison with additional restrictions on the right to hold certain positions and a fine. The case is currently being investigated by investigators of the Mykolaiv District Police Department under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office.

Earlier, the court returned a complaint filed by an NGO regarding alleged corruption. The document referred to the possible abuse of the hospital in Pivdenoukrainsk by officials.

The Voznesensk City District Court of Mykolaiv Region returned the complaint of the NGO "Resistance" against the action of the police. The activists demanded that the investigator enter information about possible crimes into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations and launch an investigation.

As stated in the complaint, it is a matter of a possible violation at the Yuzhnoukrainsk Multidisciplinary Hospital during the installation and commissioning of a medical tomograph, which was purchased with state and local funds. According to the complainants, hospital officials may have abused their positions and misappropriated funds.
