A resident of Odesa promised the girls employment as maids in a hotel, but instead sent them into sexual slavery.

According to the Odesa regional police, the 27-year-old Odesa resident, in collusion with currently unidentified persons, organized the search, selection and recruitment of Ukrainian women to provide intimate services in one of the EU countries.

"The woman was looking for girls among her friends and in specially created groups in the messenger under the pretext of employment as maids in a hotel. The woman promised them free plane tickets and decent wages abroad," the police added.

Misleading people about her real intentions, the woman promised them free plane tickets and decent salaries abroad. Thus, the suspect recruited two of her friends. She was detained while recruiting another woman. The woman faces up to 12 years in prison with or without confiscation of property. The court has now imposed a round-the-clock house arrest on the suspect.

Earlier in Mykolaiv, four residents were accused of producing and distributing pornographic video products for sale, as well as human trafficking committed by a group of people. The investigation established that the 47-year-old woman organized an interregional online porn studio and involved two women aged 41 and 44 who acted as administrators, as well as a 45-year-old "web model".

Also in 2024, a resident of Snihurivka was served with a notice of suspicion for storing pornographic content involving children in the Mykolaiv region. As a result of searches at the suspect's place of residence, law enforcement officers found and seized computer equipment and memory devices. According to the conclusions of the forensic artistic examination, the media contained files containing child pornography.
