Acting Mayor of Odesa Igor Koval has ordered the city to stop supplying heating to Odesa residents' apartments on March 31.

According to the press service of the Odesa municipality, the city has completed the 2025-2026 heating season.

The heads of enterprises of all forms of ownership that own central heating systems were instructed to turn them off, while the municipal enterprise "Heat Supply of Odesa", heads of enterprises of other forms of ownership, as well as heads of enterprises that own central heating and hot water supply systems, were ordered to start carrying out planned work on the repair of the heating system.

Last year, the then mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, signed an order to end the heating season in the city on March 31. The previous year, the Odesa Regional State Administration decided to end the heating season in the region's settlements between March 25 and April 15. This was explained by the warming weather.

The heating season of 2025-2026 started on November 10, but Odesa residents did not receive heat immediately - it was traditionally supplied to social institutions, hospitals and educational institutions first. The second stage will start on November 17 with the supply of heat to residential buildings.

However, the heating season started a little earlier in Odesa Oblast. In Podilsk, the northernmost district center of Odesa Oblast, hospitals, kindergartens and housing stock were connected to heat on November 6. The heating season also started in Rozdilna, where kindergartens and a hospital were heated. Meanwhile, the executive committee of the Izmail City Council decided to start the heating season of 2025-2026 on November 12.
