OSCE condemns Russian attack on Suspilne Odesa office

The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Jan Braatu, condemned the Russian drone attack on March 28 that damaged the office of Suspilne Odesa.

He made the statement on March 30 on the social network X, according to Suspilne.

He noted that media facilities are civilian infrastructure and cannot be targets for attacks.

"I recall and emphasize that media facilities are civilian objects and, accordingly, are protected by international humanitarian law and should not be targeted," Braat said in his post.

The OSCE representative also condemned the attacks on the media and called on the Russian military leadership to comply with international humanitarian law.

As a result of the enemy's night attack on March 28, one person was killed in Odesa and 12 others were injured, including a child.

The Russians also hit the roof of a four-story maternity hospital building without causing further fire. At the time of the attack, there were 80 people in the facility, including 33 medical workers, all of whom were in the shelter.

Damage and partial destruction were reported to private and multi-storey buildings, as well as critical infrastructure facilities. The territory of the telecenter was also damaged.

According to the command of the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of March 28, the enemy attacked with 273 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmass and other types of attack drones. Odesa region was the main target of the attack. As of 7:30 a.m., air defense defenses had neutralized 252 enemy drones. However, 21 attack drones were hit at 18 locations, and the downed drones fell (wreckage) at nine locations. After 7:00, the enemy launched repeated drone strikes in Odesa region and other regions in the north and east.
