Preparations for the session of the Odesa City Council scheduled for April 16 are nearing completion, and the preliminary agenda of the meeting is already known.

Although the agenda can still be adjusted at the conciliation board and before the meeting by introducing issues by voice vote, we can say that on April 16, almost 50 draft decisions are ready to be submitted to the deputies for consideration.

Among them is the creation of a new Department of Urban Planning and Land Relations of the Odesa City Council, which will merge the Department of Land Resources and the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. The head of the new department will also become the chief architect of Odesa. However, the chief architect of the city is appointed only on the basis of a competition, so the director of the department should be selected on the basis of a competition.

Also, more than 10 issues will concern amendments to the city's targeted programs. For example, in the program "Barrier-free Odesa " for 2023-2025, it is planned to allocate 4.4 million for a new playground, instead of the one that was demolished on Soborna Square. The amendments will also include the allocation of UAH 12 million 820 thousand to district administrations to pay bonuses to housing and communal services workers who participated in the response to the consequences of Russian air attacks.

In addition, changes are planned to be made to the decision on the cost of meals for children in schools. Here, the cost itself will not be changed, but only the meals for children of privileged categories will be separated from those who are not. This is done because the state subvention for feeding children in the city is running out, and it is not allowed by law not to feed the privileged ones.

In addition, the deputies may approve the allocation of 60 million to the municipal enterprise "Heat Supply of Odesa" for priority measures to connect new cogeneration units. In general, the company needs 200 million 750 thousand hryvnias to install and launch these units. They tried to get it from the state, but to no avail.

Another issue is the installation of a monument to Lesya Ukrainka. We have now considered the square at the intersection of Lesya Ukrainka Avenue (formerly Gagarin Avenue) and Fontanska Road.

It should be noted that Intent will traditionally broadcast the meetings online, as well as monitor the meetings of the city council's standing committees, which approve draft decisions that will be considered at the session.
