Mykolaiv allocates funds to support families of war prisoners: 1500 per person

Mykolaiv plans to allocate UAH 900,000 to support the families of military personnel who are or have been in captivity. The assistance will be provided to 600 people in 2025-2026 and will be allocated from the city budget.

The decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council.

The changes were made to the comprehensive program to support the defenders of Ukraine, their families and the families of fallen soldiers. The program, which runs from 2024 to 2026, has been updated to strengthen social assistance, in particular to the families of war prisoners and those who have been released from captivity.

The total amount of funding for the program remains at UAH 84.9 million, which will be allocated exclusively from the budget of the Mykolaiv city territorial community. In 2024, more than UAH 26.5 million is envisaged, in 2025 - UAH 28 million, and in 2026 - more than UAH 30.3 million.

According to the updates, the program has been clarified to support the families of military personnel who are or have been in captivity. UAH 900 thousand is allocated for the program from the city budget: UAH 300 thousand in 2025 and UAH 600 thousand in 2026. It is expected that 200 people will receive support in 2025, and 400 in 2026.

The average cost of participation of one person in the events is UAH 1.5 thousand. In 2026, they plan to reach twice as many people as in the previous year.

In May, the executive committee transferred 1.5 million hryvnias from the territorial defense program for mobilization training. The funds will be used to purchase materials and pay for services under the city's security program.

In March, Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 4 received UAH 25 million from the budget to set up a prosthetic and orthotic workshop. The decision to open it was made in September last year. The city has already received some of the necessary equipment from international partners.

In 2025, local budgets of Mykolaiv region allocated over UAH 196 million to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which over UAH 67 million came from the regional budget. In addition, the military received sponsorship - 110 DJI Mavic 3 drones, 15 TVs, 10 powerful charging stations and 30 tablets.
