According to the executive committee, this step was taken in view of martial law and on the basis of current budget legislation.

In 2024, the budget of the Mykolaiv City Territorial Community received UAH 419 million in additional subsidies to ensure the powers of local authorities in the territories affected by Russian aggression. And in 2025, Mykolaiv region allocated more than UAH 196 million to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine: military units, law enforcement agencies, and measures for terrorism defense and public security were financed.
