In Kherson region, a pseudo-minister was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison. Another collaborator, a deputy from the Holoprystan community, was taken to court.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecutor's office has secured a 10-year prison sentence for the so-called Minister of Ecology of the occupation authorities of Kherson region. Another collaborator, who became a United Russia MP, will be tried for treason.

The first defendant is a resident of Crimea who has been working in the occupation structures on the peninsula since 2014. After the full-scale invasion of Russia, he arrived in Kherson region and served as the acting Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the region. He organized the work of the pseudo-institution, recruited staff, and paid salaries in rubles.

The court of first instance sentenced him to the maximum penalty of 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The defense tried to appeal the verdict, but the court of appeal upheld it. The convict has been put on the wanted list and will serve his sentence after his arrest.

The second collaborator is a deputy of the Holoprystan City Council. According to the investigation, in September 2023, he voluntarily took part in the pseudo-elections from United Russia to the so-called council of deputies of the Holopristansky municipal district. After being elected, he headed the fake land commission, participated in sessions, and engaged in pro-Russian campaigning among local residents. His case has already been brought to court.

Both cases were investigated by law enforcement officers of Kherson region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.

Also, Danylo Repilevsky, a member of the Kherson Regional Council and an agrarian from Kakhovka, was notified in absentia of being suspected of treason. According to the investigation, he voluntarily cooperated with the occupiers: he received a Russian passport, transferred the property of farmers and supported the enemy with resources.

The court found 56-year-old Anatoliy Semenov, director of Genichesk Lyceum No. 4, guilty of collaboration. The Kherson City Court sentenced him in absentia to 9 years in prison with confiscation of all his property.
