During the day, Russian attack drones struck a passenger train in Chornobaivka, Kherson Oblast. Two people were injured and the locomotives were damaged as a result of the attack.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional National Police.

According to law enforcement officials, the strike occurred around noon. The Russians targeted a passenger train in Chornobaivka with“Shahed”-type attack drones.

The attack damaged the train’s locomotives. Twenty-one passengers and the train crew were evacuated from the scene.

Police noted that the extent of the damage is being assessed, and law enforcement officials are documenting yet another war crime committed by the Russian Federation.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, provided details regarding the casualties. According to him, two diesel locomotives were damaged as a result of the attack, and a 55-year-old female railroad employee was taken to the hospital in moderate condition. The train was heading to Kherson.

The woman sustained shrapnel wounds to her arm, a concussion, blast injury, and a closed head injury. Doctors are currently providing her with the necessary medical care.

Passenger trains in the south are regularly targeted by drone attacks.

For example, in the Odesa region, a Russian attack drone struck the locomotive of passenger train No. 147 traveling from Zhytomyr to Odesa. Before the attack, the Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring team issued an evacuation order in advance, and the train was urgently stopped on the tracks.

On August 13, a Russian “Shahed” jet drone struck the Odesa–Dnipro passenger train with precision. The engineer and his assistant were killed when the drone struck the locomotive. There was also another strike—on a diesel locomotive that was performing shunting operations.

Earlier, on the morning of March 4, Russian occupiers attacked Mykolaiv with strike drones. At that time, a drone struck near a passenger car on the train, causing a fire.
