Special forces of the Kherson police rifle battalion, along with a juvenile from the Kherson District Police Department and representatives of the Save Ukraine volunteer organization, evacuated a family from the coastal village of Novodmytrivka in the Bilozerska community to safety.

According to the Kherson regional police, a 28-year-old local resident asked the volunteers to urgently evacuate her and her 7-year-old son from the dangerous Novodmitrivka.

"The settlement suffers daily from constant drone strikes and Russian shelling. And enemy drones fly not only in the village, but also at the entrances to it, dropping explosives on residential buildings, vehicles and civilians. The woman and her child could no longer live in such unbearable conditions and decided to leave to save their lives," the agency said.

Due to the fact that a significant section of the road to Novodmitrivka is constantly attacked by Russian UAVs during the day, the police decided to take the family out in the evening. Police special forces took the mother and son to an intermediate destination. There, they handed the family over to a juvenile and volunteers who took them to a safe place.

The family has now moved to Lviv region, where a volunteer organization will provide them with temporary housing and necessary assistance.

The police added that despite the constant risks to their own lives, Kherson police units continue to serve in dangerous areas, evacuate the wounded under the threat of Russian attacks, and provide assistance to all who need it. In addition, the police reminded that to evacuate from the settlements that suffer from constant Russian shelling, one should call the special line "102" or contact local authorities or volunteers.

Recently, volunteers and representatives of the Kherson City Military Administration evacuated 47 people from Antonovka and other hotspots of the community. One of the volunteers was injured as a result of an explosive drop from an enemy drone.

Before that, a 40-year-old resident of Komyshany asked the police to evacuate her and her four children as soon as possible after another enemy attack. Three girls, aged 15 and 12, as well as a 7-year-old boy, could no longer stand the constant fear for their lives and hiding in the basement from "enemy aircraft". Therefore, police officers from Police Department No. 2 (Korabelnyi), together with colleagues from Police Department No. 2 (Oleshkivskyi) of the Kherson District Department, evacuated the family from this dangerous settlement.
