Interim Head of the Advertising Department in Odesa Appointed

Acting Mayor of Odesa Ihor Koval has appointed Alyona Verbelchuk to act as head of the Department of Consumer Market Development and Consumer Protection of the Odesa City Council.

The corresponding order of Igor Koval was published by the press service of the mayor's office.

Prior to that, she held the position of deputy head of the department. She will be in charge temporarily. The previous head of this department , Konstantin Safoshin, was fired on January 12.

However, it is possible that a new head of the department will not be appointed, as at the session of the Odesa City Council, the deputies planned to create the Department of Trade, Advertising and Consumer Protection of the Odesa City Council by combining two departments - advertising and consumer market development.

For 2025, Alyona Verbelchuk declared ownership of a land plot in Podilskyi district of 37,807 square meters, and her father of a 56-square-meter house in Odesa. The official drives a 2020 Kia Sportage, and her father has a 2011 Hyundai Tucson.

The family's income was UAH 529,000: Alyona Verbelchuk's salary, UAH 16,770 in income from renting property, her mother's pension of UAH 35,300, and her father's salary of UAH 64,800. She kept UAH 70 thousand and USD 2.5 thousand in cash.

Kostiantyn Safoshyn has been in office since May 2025, when he replaced Iryna Yastremska. Before joining the department, he was the director of the Infoksvodokanal service center. Before that, he worked as a tax inspector. In 2009, he became the head of the Odesa regional branch of the State Enterprise Center for State Land Cadastre.
