Mykolaiv Parks tried to find a contractor to renovate the memorial complex in honor of the 68th Olshan paratroopers at the second attempt. However, the tender was canceled.

Information about this is available on the public procurement platform Prozorro.

This memorial commemorates the feat of a paratrooper unit under the command of Senior Lieutenant Kostiantyn Olshanskyi, who heroically died during World War II while liberating Mykolaiv.

According to the project, the Russian inscription and the Soviet star were to be removed. According to the updated version, the inscription should read as follows: "Eternal glory to the heroes who died for the Motherland." The star should be replaced with a wreath with the dates of World War II (1939-1945).

The utility company announced the procurement in the format of an open tender with special conditions in October. The cost of the work was set at UAH 672 thousand. The auction was scheduled for October 16, but it was canceled due to lack of bids.

The first attempt to Ukrainize the memorial failed back in September. Back then, the auction did not take place because no participant registered for the auction.

It should be added that the memorial is located at the site of the landing, and includes a sculptural composition depicting soldiers at the time of the attack, as well as symbolic bas-reliefs and plates with the names of heroes. The complex is an important part of the city's military history and a venue for celebrations and commemorations.

Meanwhile, Mykolaiv Funeral Service has selected a contractor on the second attempt to manufacture and install 160 tombstones for the defenders who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

In addition, the Bashtanka village council announced a tender three times to select a contractor to install monuments on the graves of fallen soldiers who were buried in the local cemetery. We are talking about 14 tombstones. UAH 700 thousand was allocated from the budget for their installation. But each time, the bidding was canceled due to lack of bids.
