A case against the state registrar of a village council in Odesa region was brought to court. He illegally re-registered state land worth more than UAH 134 million.

According to the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, in 2022, the official changed the information in the register without any legal grounds, which led to the loss of state ownership of 21 agricultural land plots.

The total area of the illegally alienated land was 3191 hectares, and its value exceeded UAH 134 million. These lands were in the permanent use of the State Institution "Shyriayiv Correctional Center No. 111".

The illegal decisions have now been canceled and the land plots returned to the state.

The State Registrar was charged with unauthorized alteration of information processed in automated systems (Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Earlier, the Commercial Court of Odesa Region upheld the claim of the Bilyayiv District Prosecutor's Office to return to the state forestry land of special value, which is part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine, with a total area of 1 hectare worth more than UAH 30 million.

Land fraud is also widespread in Mykolaiv region. There, a gymnasium director was found to be making money by renting land belonging to the educational institution. The value of the land is almost 300 thousand hryvnias, and the area is 10 hectares. This land plot is in permanent use of the Novofedorivska gymnasium of the Kazankivska village council and is intended for personal subsidiary farming.

In addition, the state returned the land of the reserve, which was used for private agriculture. The value of the land is over UAH 33 million.
