A former investigator from Kherson found herself on the other side of the law - now she is suspected of crimes against the state. According to the investigation, the woman not only received a Russian passport, but also systematically promoted pro-Russian narratives and justified the war against Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the woman received a Russian passport, spread pro-Russian narratives and justified Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. The court has now imposed a pre-trial restraint on her in the form of detention.

According to the prosecutor's office, the 46-year-old suspect had previously worked as a senior investigator in one of the district police departments in Kherson for more than a decade, but was dismissed from the police in 2011. At the time of her arrest, she was not officially employed.

The investigation found that during 2025, the woman sent emails to government and law enforcement agencies in which she promoted the idea of uniting Ukraine with Russia and spread other pro-Russian narratives. In her emails, she distorted historical facts, spoke disparagingly of the Ukrainian language, and claimed the alleged "Russian origin" of certain territories of Ukraine.

In addition, according to law enforcement officers, the suspect supported the propaganda theses of the aggressor state regarding the so-called "special military operation", justified it and spread disinformation about the events in Kherson region. It was also established that in July 2022, the woman received a Russian passport and, according to her, was proud of it.

She was charged with encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the production and dissemination of materials justifying Russian aggression and denying the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories. The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by SBU investigators in Kherson region.

A resident of Kherson was also placed under house arrest for spreading pro-Russian propaganda. For a long time, the man published and distributed materials that justified Russian aggression against Ukraine and glorified its participants.
