Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation exposed the director of one of the enterprises, who organized the supply of low-quality butter for the needs of the National Guard of Ukraine.

This was reported by the SBI press service.

According to the investigation, the official concluded contracts for the supply of products to military units that did not meet the established standards. The detainee, according to the SBI, used falsified warranty documents on product quality to make money on counterfeit butter. Under this scheme, the official planned to supply 250 tons of low-quality butter to the soldiers for tens of millions of hryvnias.

The director of the company has been served a notice of suspicion of fraud and use of knowingly forged documents. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided. If proven guilty, the woman faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The SBI is taking measures to compensate the state for the damage caused and is checking other facts of supplying low-quality products to the military. According to the press service of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office in the Southern Region, the detainee's actions caused losses to the state of more than UAH 7.1 million.

As part of the criminal proceedings , detectives and prosecutors conducted 15 searches in Poltava, Kyiv and Cherkasy regions, including the suspect's place of residence, the NGU military unit and the addresses of persons involved in the conclusion and execution of the contracts. Computer equipment, storage media, mobile phones and documentation relevant to establishing the circumstances of the crime were seized.

In June, the State Bureau of Investigation announced the disclosure of a criminal organization that had been seizing budget funds allocated for the purchase of food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, allegedly organized by an Odesa resident.
