The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine has outlined the main tasks for 2025, including the development of ports in Odesa region and the Danube Port Cluster.

This was reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

The key areas include ensuring the operation of critical infrastructure in the face of attacks, supporting communities and regions, restoring housing, and attracting international financing for reconstruction.

As part of the transportation reform, the government plans to launch the eInspector system, which will make the work of the State Transport Safety Service more transparent. The ECMT permit distribution system and data exchange with customs will also be improved.

The maritime industry will also benefit from digital innovations. In the first half of 2025, digital functionality for obtaining a seafarer's identity card is expected to be launched.

Several important initiatives are envisaged to improve logistics, especially in the frontline regions. In 2025, UAH 12.6 billion has been allocated for road repairs and maintenance, with a priority for military logistics. It is planned to modernize automobile checkpoints to speed up border crossings, as well as to develop the ports of Odesa and the Danube port cluster, which are part of the Ukrainian export corridor.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated EUR 50 million of EU budget support to repair and improve port infrastructure, including the port of Odesa. Since the beginning of 2024, the volume of cargo handled by Ukrainian seaports has amounted to 91.1 million tons, of which 89.9 million tons were transported between January and November.

Recently, the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company failed to sell six vessels of its fleet, which were put up for sale as a single lot with a starting price of UAH 440 million 680 thousand 132. No one wanted to buy the repaired Vilkovo and Izmail, as well as Tatarbunary, Viana do Castelo, Kiliya and Reni, which had been idle for a long time.
