The members of the Standing Committee on Planning, Budget and Finance have once again decided not to approve the allocation of UAH 40 million for the repair of the building that will house the Youth Municipal Center.

The decision was made during a meeting of the commission on March 25.

According to the chairman of the commission, Oleksiy Potapsky, the draft decision raises many questions for officials and needs to be finalized, and deputy Volodymyr Kornienko, who attended the meeting, asked to invite the head of the hub to consider this project.

"The last time they talked about attracting grant funds, but the amount was ridiculous compared to what they asked for from the budget," the deputy said.

Oleksiy Potapsky agreed and noted that the project has many technical issues.

"There are indeed grant funds, but there are restrictions on their use and timing. In short, there are many questions, and in our opinion, the Department of Internal Policy is not ready to implement this project, we are ready to help and support, but the project needs to be finalized," said Potapsky.

He explained that the delay in the start of the commission's meeting, which lasted an hour, occurred precisely because officials and the MP were discussing this project.

In February 2025, the commission already rejected this project. At that time, Natalia Soinikova, head of the Youth Policy Division of the Department of Internal Policy, explained that the Youth Municipal Center had won a grant from the United Nations Development Program for $149,000 to begin repairs to the building. However, to receive this money, there must be co-financing. The total cost of the work, she said, is 42 million hryvnias.

An hour earlier, the Commission on Education, Sports and Cooperation with Public Organizations had agreed to allocate 40 million hryvnias.
