In Odesa region, a man attacked a representative of a territorial center when he asked to see his documents. The court found him guilty and sentenced him.
This is evidenced by the verdict of the Kyiv District Court of Odesa.
In Odesa, the court found guilty a man who used tear gas against a soldier during mobilization activities. The conflict occurred when the man refused to show his documents to representatives of the territorial recruitment center.
The incident occurred in April this year. The soldier asked the man to show his documents, but he started arguing, pulled out a Teren 4M gas canister and sprayed it in the face of the senior soldier. The victim suffered chemical burns to his eyes.
The court found the Odesa resident guilty of obstructing the work of the Armed Forces in wartime and of intentionally inflicting light bodily harm. The defendant fully admitted his guilt, repented and explained that he was afraid of mobilization.
During the trial, the court took into account that the man had no previous convictions, has a young child and a father with a disability, and his family voluntarily donated 130 thousand hryvnias to the needs of the Armed Forces.
As a result, the court sentenced him to five years in prison, but released him from serving a three-year probationary period. The gas canister was ordered to be destroyed, and the costs of the examination - more than two thousand hryvnias - were to be recovered from the defendant.
In another case, the Khadzhibeysky District Court of Odesa found a man guilty of obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and inflicting intentional light bodily harm.
On June 12, at about 19:00 in Odesa, the man was stopped by representatives of the territorial center for recruitment and social support to check his documents. In response, he used tear gas and then stabbed one of the soldiers in the chest. He was sentenced to five years in prison, but the sentence was commuted to three years of probation.
