In Pivdennoukrainsk, Mykolaiv Oblast, there are plans to revise the rates for household waste management services. The cost of trash collection will increase for residents, government agencies, and other consumers.
This was announced bythe Executive Committee of the Pivdennoukrainsk City Council.
The municipal utility company “Public Utilities Service” explained that one of the reasons for the revision was the transfer of the solid household waste landfill to the company’s balance sheet. In addition, they noted that the law requires an annual review of economically justified rates.
According to calculations, the proposed rate for household waste disposal is 47.08 hryvnia per cubic meter, excluding VAT. Including 20% VAT, the amount will be 56.50 hryvnia per cubic meter.

According to forecasts, 88,110 cubic meters of household waste are expected to be landfilled in five settlements of the Pivdennoukrainska community during 2026.
The company’s total annual costs for this service are estimated at 4.148 million hryvnias, excluding VAT. The tariff includes salaries for landfill employees, fuel costs, equipment repairs, administrative expenses, and the environmental tax.
The calculations were based on a diesel fuel price of 74.92 hryvnias per liter and an A-95 gasoline price of 60.36 hryvnias per liter.
The municipal enterprise noted that the profit margin for the new rate across all consumer categories is 0%. The proposed service cost was calculated based on the enterprise’s projected expenses.
New household waste collection rates have been in effect in Mykolaiv since July 1 of this year. They were established for the municipal enterprises “Mykolaivkomtrans” and “Obriy-DKP.”
And as of May 1, 2026, household waste collection rates were increased for residents of the Korabelny District of Mykolaiv.
