On August 22, Mykolaiv Oblast declared a Day of Mourning for those who died as a result of the Russian attack on Tokarivka in the Veselynivska community. Among the dead were three children.

According to the Regional Military Administration, a Russian "shahid" struck a building housing a store, a post office, and a pharmacy. The strike caused a fire covering an area of approximately 300 square meters.

Two 11-year-old boys, a 13-year-old boy, and a 30-year-old man were killed. Another person—a 36-year-old woman—was injured.

Emergency services responded at the scene.

In addition to Tokarivka, Russian troops attacked communities in the Mykolaiv region with drones overnight and in the morning.

In the Bashtanka district, “Molniya”-type UAVs struck the Snigurivka and Horokhiv communities twice. A private home was damaged in Snigurivka, and a combine harvester was damaged in Novotymofiivka. There were no casualties.

In the Mykolaiv district, Shahed/“Geran” drones attacked the Ochakiv and Chornomorsk communities. In Ochakiv, an 81-year-old woman was injured. She was hospitalized; her condition is stable and considered moderately serious. An apartment building was also damaged.
